俚语 winham
释义

winham

A name, of very few, that is derived from small hamlets towards the bottom of England. This name comes from the hamlets in the fynns –a marshy area of England. Thus, we get Fynhamlet, which was changed to Wynham, with the dropped "let" and with the Normans' inability to pronounce the "F." As the name moved more towards the North the "wy" gradually changed to "wi" through accents and use. So we find similar names, like Weynham. Winham people are known for not having many genetic diseases.
That isn't a Weynham, nor a Windham. No, by gosh, he looks fit as a fiddle –he must be a Winham!
