It arose in the 1970s in Texas following a high-school presidency campaign after it was used by a candidate during a speech with a large audience upon receiving unknown information on stage by a classmate. The term was immediately adopted by the school, and the candidate would go on to receive the majority vote by a landslide until he graduated in ‘78.
