BopCats as their called are a subculture that originated from Toronto Canada. They model themselves after the 50s. Taking fashion from the late 40s and 50s and putting a modern flair into it. This subculture is all about being classy, stylish and cool.
Music: The group is open to all types of music and pride themselves on their music diversity. But their most often known for there special interest in Jazz and blues and in particular Bebop. The groups are often seen in Jazz & Blues clubs enjoying the soulful music.
Stylish – Bop Boys in the culture are known for wearing fedora hats, dress shirts (unbuttoned with a shirt underneath) or buttoned accompanied with spiffy tie. Pants are usually black and have a bandanna (matching the color tie) hanging out of the back pocket. Shoes are either skater shoes or classic 50’s black and white dance shoes. Guys in the group are known for being true gentlemen and pride themselves on Chivalry.
Bop Girls in the culture are often found wearing halter tops and 50s themed mini skirts or tight black jeans. Their also known for their use of makeup, some going for the Marilyn Monroe style. 50s jewelry and accessories are also all quite popular. Hair styles vary but generally look natural.
