Cheryl'ed

The act of pretending to listen to someone. To nod and agree but , not really listen to what others are saying. At the end of the conversation the person who is the Cheryl'er will be happy for you even when it is bad news.

The person who was Cheryl'ed will end up with a puzzled look on their face.
