俚语 clamz
释义

Clamz

The need to keep quiet about an impending event, or an event with a positive outcome that has already taken place, in order not to jinx a future outcome.

Derives from the word Clam, a bivalve seashell with the ability to shut its valves tight to prevent anything from coming in to or out of the enclosed space housing the organism itself.
Footie Pundit on TV: "Leicester needs to win three more games to win the Premier League. This is going to be one of the greatest upsets in football history"

Leicester diehard: Clamz, you jinxing knucklehead!
