Colemity
Colemity is a combination of the words comedy and calamity, and is a term coined by Jim Carry. It refers to the type of comedy acts or movies in which comedy is used to draw the audience in, and then flip the script to a more serious topic, which then affects the audience to a greater degree as they have already been hooked in by the character's jovial attitude.
The movie '50/50' is an example of a colemity movie, as it uses humour and comedy to deal with the serious subject of struggling with cancer.
