Corpsplain
When an employee of a company (usually the social media manager) gives an excuse for the bad decisions the company has made as directed by the company upper management.
@Bob123: Hey, why did you just double the price on your service that has only been $50 a month for the 5 years you guys have been around?
@CompanyBrandAccount: We’re sorry that you are disappointed with these changes. Our increase in pricing is to accommodate for the changing landscape of our world due to COVID-19. We hope you understand this and we are willing to give you the best quality experience we can.
@Bob123: That’s it? What good corpsplain that was… I’m using @OtherCompanyBrandAccount’s service instead.
Company Social Media Manager Daniel: Was that a decent response, David?
Marketing Management Leader David: Yeah, that was good. Just keep quiet from this point on, we’ll handle the rest of these complaints.
