Daft Punk Syndrome
When an upcoming event or release is hyped up so much that it's inevitably disappointing, irregardless of the actual objective quality of the event/release, due to the misfortune of the event/release having to meet unrealistic expectations. Named after the French DJ duo Daft Punk and the circumstances surrounding the release of their long-awaited 2013 album "Random Access Memories."
