DCUMD
DC Urban Moms and Dads
It's sociology--surely all the well educated elites on DCUMD took that at their tony universities?

My DH and I are tackling major debt - credit cards and student loans. Obviously this is our priority. The credit card debt alone will take 5+ years to pay off. We also have children we'd like to save for.
While you're saving and paying debt, do you spend any money on life's pleasures? Or do you completely do away with vacations, eating out, spa days, etc until it's all paid off? I'm not an extravagant person but the idea of completely forgoing any of these things for 5, 10, 20 years seems a little bleak (just saying!). Just curious how everyone else out there approaches this.
