Demichiganization
The process where the children of Northern transplants to the South, especially from Michigan, adapt to Southern culture and southern drawl, often to the disgust of their parents.
I regret leaving Ann Arbor for Birmingham, my son has an annoying drawl, eats gross food, wears comfort colors and khaki shorts, and wants to go to Bama instead of Umich; I am worried that demichiganization will affect my younger children as well.
