俚语 dixie chicked
释义

Dixie Chicked

When you talk bad about the President on foreign shores during a time of war making everyone think that you are Anti-American and unpatriotic.

When freedom loving Americans choose not to listen to their music their fame rapidly declined after a brief rebound spell when liberals tried to make a point by driving to the CD store and buying their music but not listening to it, leading to stacks of unused CD's and increasing their carbon footprint in doing so. Irony.

Many ignorant people thought that only rednecks listened to their music initially but far from it.
"Hey, that new singer spoke out against my president"

"That's okay, he can be Dixie Chicked... that is what freedom is all about... since I do not agree with what was said, I have the right to stop listening and buying that music"

Dixie Chicked

To be "Dixie Chicked" is when you are boycotted by a bunch of simple minded, beer drinking, Bush supporting rednecks, that are are easily mislead by misinformation, instead of being able to make an intelligent and informed decision for themselves!

Yes. its true, the NASCAR crowd is a bit "slow" and have grown up with others thinking for them!

So when the extreme conservatives start sending a bunch of misinformation to the rednecks, of corse its a natural fit!

But fortunately the Dixie Chicks promptly dumped the redneck crowd and continue to survive quite nicely without the help or support of country music radio.

The Dixie Chicks are a great example of brave Americans who refused to back down to simple mindedness and political correctness, They continue to be be brilliant at all they do, and will be rewarded by people who know the meaning of a true American band!

Joe: Hey ... did you see all the crap the reporters are saying on TV?

Max: Yup ... they better be carful they don't end up being " Dixie Chicked " You can get in trouble for speaking the truth!

Dixie Chicked

When a left-leaning public figure is aggressively made the target of potentially career-harming criticism from well-connected right-leaning individuals, institutions or news outlets, as in the way the Dixie Chicks were lambasted for their opposition to the Iraq war in 2003.
Paul Krugman definitely got Dixie Chicked by Donald Rumsfeld after that op-ed where he said the neocons tried to use 9/11 as an excuse to go to war.

dixie chicks

dixie chicks

A singing group that used the wrong forum to exercise their "right to free speech" and were surprised when they were boycotted.
Way to go, Dixie Chicks!

dixie chicks

A group of idiotic hypocrites who believe that their right to freedom of speech was violated when people stopped buying their albums.
Yes they have the freedom to say what they want, but that also means that other people have the right to strongly disagree with them and dislike them for it.
That is why they are hypocrites, they believe that they have the right to say what they want, but yet they think that their fans don't have the right to stop financially supporting them if they disagree with them.
The dixie chicks are uneducated hypocrites who twist the meaning of freedom of speech. Freedom of speech means you can't be criminally prosecuted for what you say, it sure as hell doesn't mean that everyone has to share your opinion and like you.

dixie chicks

The up-and-coming bluegrass-punk sensation from California. Used to be a popular country band from Texas before they realized they weren't half the rednecks their audience were. Still learning how to take a stand and stick with it, though.
