俚语 do a gifford
释义

Do a Gifford

'Doing a Gifford' is an order of magnitude more intense than your average upper-middle class British gap year - it's an intense pursuit.

Basically involves going over to a foreign land (where shit is going down) and trying to make a contribution to whatever side is aligned with the West (and most certainly not seeing a whole lot of action).
Alfie: Looks like the PRC are about to engage in an amphibious assault of Taiwan. Pretty Wild! You want to do a Gifford on that?

Ralf: Do a Gifford on that whole PRC-Taiwan debacle? Just buying my ticket now mate!
