Draxsplaining
To misunderstand what someone is saying; taking what they said too literally. Then responding to what they said based on your very literal interpretation.
Lawrence: ::Drops plate on ground::
Emily: (scared and jarred from the loud noise) "Ouch! That's loud!"
Lawrence: "I do not believe the decibel levels created by the dropping plate are sufficient to damage your hearing in any meaningful way. Do not be alarmed."
Emily: "You're draxsplaining again, Lawrence"
