An Emcee is an artist who focuses on skill, they’re objective is to gain respect for how they authentically choose to do the craft and how they play in the game.
Hip-Hop can be competitive, so while emcee’s might compete with others to claim the top spot, an Emcee’s Emcee isn’t playing the game, they’re either intentionally or unintentionally teaching you HOW to through their wisdom, flows, lyrical content and originality. They’ve already solidified their spot, so it’d be unnecessary to try to prove that they have what it takes.
These artist are the masters of the craft. It’s to the point that majority of their fans are mostly Emcees instead of solely average music listeners due to the technicality of their art. Their music can be too complex to understand to those who are not followers of or those not in the field of Hip-Hop.
