俚语 facetimey
释义

facetimey

This term is very common in Dartmouth College lingo and might be used at other schools as well because it's a useful term. It essentially refers to someone at Dartmouth who -- unintentionally or not -- spends time in time in public, high-traffic locations on Dartmouth's campus — such as Novack Café, FFB (First Floor Berry), Collis Student Center and KAF (King Arthur Flour Café) — with the goal of being seen. It can also be -- and is more often -- used to refer to someone who is very friendly but also superficial and it frequently has a negative connotation.
Callie is very "facetimey" because she spends her afternoons acting like she's studying in Blobby (Baker Lobby) before heading to Collis for dinner and then working on homework with friends on FFB (First Floor Berry in Dartmouth's Library). Her boyfriend is very "facetimey" too because he's totally unafraid to network with Dartmouth professors and alumni.
