For many, unthinkable at Thanksgiving, during a pandemic, all-too-thinkable when the families in question have been immigrants seeking asylum.
Of course the kids would come home from college at Thanksgiving, to sit together as they had always done. With so much to share, perhaps including Covid infections, they were less likely to think about the children who had been taken from their parents, still held in cages, the mothers without their babies, under the all-but-forgotten policy of family separation.
