The act fans of a particular franchise (TV series, book series, sport, etc.) talking down to or about fans that they don't see as "legitimate" fans.
Karen is always fansplaining about how new and younger fans are ruining fandom.

Fansplain
Being corrected by a fan about the source of their fandom. Like the term,"mansplain," but can be used with either gender as long as they proceed with a boring, officious correction of something you said.
Example: "Misty fansplained to Brock that his information about water-type Pokemon was wrong."
