Flooding the Fight
Flooding the Fight is a phrase regarding the commonly occurring floods in the Midwest along the Red River (especially among Fargo, North Dakota). This terminology was coined with the phrase "Fight the Flood." However, since it is a heavily alcoholic area in the Midwest, "Flooding the Fight" was derived from the amount of alcohol consumed during the flood time frame in order to drown the sorrows of the lost communities. Also, the large amount of social drinking that comes along with schools being let out for break because of the floods.
