The term gridder refers to someone who is absolutely entrenched in society and thinks everything they see and hear in the media must be true. Gridders live a very “on the grid” lifestyle. They work a 9-5, eat processed foods, live in a metropolitan area, and NEVER question science. A gridder is easily tricked by words somebody wrote online.
To a gridder, a famous actor is basically a scientist and politician.

Derived from 'cattle grid', a gridder is a person who lives on the more rural side of a road with a cattle grid. Someone who has one on their road and in front of their house is known as a 'double gridder'. It can also be applied to those who have to go over cattle grids in order to reach work. (Originated Hythe, Hampshire)
