indifferent ignorance

A state of near-total ignorance, especially regarding subjects concerning racism, politics, sexism or homophobia. Often a person suffering from indifferent ignorance is vaguely aware that they have not researched or considered their opinions, but they are not inclined to research or consider them.

A large amount of indifferent ignorance stems from the tabloid press, party political propaganda and agreeing with the views of the people by whom you were raised.
