Inferiorism
By inferiorism we mean those processes which bring people to distance themselves from, and devalue, inherited ways of life; their indigenous culture is rejected or accepted only in a diluted way. Instead, people embrace the values, styles and cultural ways of the coloniser.
One implication of cultural inferiorism is the systematic and deep-rooted devaluation of indigenous, vernacular literacies.
