mulatstizo
Mulatstizo a large multiracial group composing of a mixture of African, European and Native American. This triracial group has it’s ethnogenesis beginning in the New World of the 16th century aka 1500’s with the Colonization of the Americas.
The Mulatstizo (Mulatto and Mestizo) people began as the offspring formed when mostly White male Spanish and Portuguese colonists mixed begat mixed race children with Native American and African women. Over time they continued to mix together forming distinct populations and and unique identities of their own. Rather than identifying by strictly race as opposed to strictly racially racially categorized societies in the United States, they prefer to identify with their nationality. The largest populations are in Brazil and much of the former Spanish Speaking Caribbean colonies in Latin America such as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. In the past, they existed in significant numbers in the former French and English colonies, but over time they were absorbed into the more numerous European and African descended populations. Most of the cultures of the aforementioned countries also reflect a blending of the various European, Indigenous, and African cultures.
