The mum equivalent to mansplaining; when your mum tells you something that you already know as if you’re still six :/
Mum: “ Go get some milk, it’s in the dairy aisle.”
Me:”Will you stop mumsplaining?”
Me:”Will you stop mumsplaining?”

Where a parent steps in a bit too quickly to speak on behalf of children purely (in their mind) to make a social setting run a bit more smoothly.

Before the child can answer the child’s chief communications agent and PR manager (i.e. mother) mumsplains (mumsplaining): “She is going to the local school like her older sister and brother,”
