Peligrievous - to push forward with harsh and cruel intentions ultimately causing pain.
You explained to him that continuing down this path would not resolve any conflict and provided him alternative options which would benefit all parties and he still said no and would not provide you with a reason other than that you “don’t know what you’re talking about”?

Well then, he is clearly just being peligrievous.
