Southwest Indiana

Southwest Indiana consists of Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Martin, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties. Southwest Indiana is a part of the Tri-State Area, the Ohio Valley, the Wabash Valley, and Indiana--in that order. Southwest Indiana is NOT a part of Kentuckiana, but is directly west of it. Cities in Southwest Indiana include Evansville and maybe some others.

Southwest Indiana is geographically distinct from northern and central Indiana because it has hills and from Kentuckiana because it doesn't have a lot of hills.

Divided from the rest of the state by time zone and the fact that I-69 will probably never be finished, the people of Southwest Indiana have developed a strong sense of local pride. Local chains include Donut Bank, Azzip Pizza, and Turoni's. Local activities include visiting Holiday World and making fun of Kentucky.

Southern hospitality meets Midwestern charm, the people of Southwest Indiana can collectively be described as nice, kind, and having an interesting but not-unpleasant accent.

Southwest Indiana is an easy daytrip away from Louisville, Nashville, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. Also Indianapolis, if you're in to that kind of thing.

Southwest Indiana is sometimes called Southwestern Indiana by people with too much time on their hands.
