the old Wamsuttas
Literally, a set of bedsheets common to New Englanders, named for a 17th Century Wampanoag sachem. Used as a double entendre by Carla Tortelli in an episode of CHEERS to refer to the conjugal sheets betwixt which the overly fecund waitress has created numerous children herself.
CARLA: Tell me something, Red. Are professional athletes better between the old Wamsuttas than ordinary men?
