With a career spanning from the late 60's through today, Donnie Simpson continues to be hugely popular in radio which is where his roots were planted. Originally a High School news reporter at age 15 for WJLB Radio in Detroit, Donnie quickly gained popularity. Only 1 year later, Donnie had his very own radio show until 1977 when he moved to Washington DC for a job at WKYS. With his fame growing at a rapid rate, Donnie became the first star of BET and host of it's flagship program "Video Soul". Some of the biggest stars in music from Janet Jackson to LL Cool J to Patti LaBelle and many more sat on the couch with Donnie for interviews. Donnie Simpson's green eyes and good looks were always a favorite of the ladies, and his friendly nature and positive interviews were a favorite of fans around the world. Donnie can currently be heard on WPGC 95.5 in Washington, DC where he is the morning show host from 6-10am. Donnie has been the number one radio personality in the DC area for an unprecendented 28 years and counting. Donnie has also made guest appearances on Television programs from Martin to the Jamie Foxx Show, and in the movies Krush Groove, The Five Heartbeats and Disorderlies.
